Frequently asked questions

General

  • Chocolate that tastes this good is something you’d rather keep to yourself. But do you always have the nerve to admit it? That’s why we launched our brand in 2013 as Hands Off My Chocolate — so we could say it for you. Pretty tasty, right? At the start of 2023, we changed direction and decided to make only plant-based chocolate, taking a stand for chocolate that doesn’t make the planet melt. To make that choice even clearer, we changed our name to Hands Off. Because it’s not just Hands Off My Chocolate, but Hands Off Our Planet too!
  • Hands Off chocolate bars are available at a number of supermarkets, including Albert Heijn, Jumbo, PLUS and Picnic. The range may vary depending on the supermarket chain and individual store.
  • We don’t understand it either! ;-) It might help to contact the supermarket’s head office customer service team by sending them a message on social media.

Ingredients

  • Our cocoa comes from Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. We work closely with farmer cooperatives in both countries. The cocoa farmers who are members of these cooperatives receive a premium price for their cocoa, as well as valuable training and support.
  • Some of our chocolates contain, or may contain traces of, gluten, nuts, soya or other allergens, so it’s important to check the ingredients list. If a product contains allergens, these are shown in bold in the ingredients list on the product page on our website and on the packaging. Any traces the product may contain are also listed there. Although our products are plant-based, they may still contain traces of milk (lactose).
  • All our products are 100% plant-based, so the recipes themselves do not contain any milk or lactose. However, because our products are made in a factory where other products containing milk are also produced, they may contain traces of milk/lactose.
  • Some of our bars are peanut free, this is noted in the ingredient list.

Delivery

  • If you place your order before 2 pm on a weekday, we’ll hand it over to the post the same working day. Normally, it will arrive the following day. However, if it’s warmer than 22°C outside, we’ll wait to send our chocolate until it cools down, so your chocolate doesn’t melt.
  • Delivery costs are €3.50 for a letterbox parcel. If you order more, it will be sent in a large parcel, which costs €7.50. For delivery costs abroad, please refer to your basket. Once you select your country, the correct delivery cost will be shown automatically. Delivery within the Netherlands is free on orders over €35.
  • We also send our chocolate to Belgium and Germany.
  • If something’s not right, please contact us. Chocolate is a fresh product, so we can’t accept returns, but if your order arrives damaged or incorrect, we’ll fix it. Reach out to us via info@thechocolateimpactgroup.com
